Build-Day Pictures

In case you couldn't be here for Build-Day, here are some pictures to fill you in on what happened!

Face painting was part of the children's playground passport activities.
The West Jefferson Student Council helped us beat the heat by shooting water balloons!

The candy launch was so much fun - it shot with such force it even opened some of the candy for the kids!

Mrs. Shumway and Mrs. Tuckett announce and thank our many generous sponsors!

Mud Lake Telephone representatives Randy Mead and Justin Peterson cut the ribbon with a little help from some great kids!  So glad they could be here!

Children stampede for the playground after the ribbon is cut!!
This is the moment we've all been waiting for!

We had just enough time to play before the storm rolled in and it was like monsoon season hit Terreton!
HUGE thanks to Pamela Smith for planning and delegating the activities for Build-Day.  Thank you to Kathy Bitter, Ms. Jill Coleman, Mrs. Gaye Rothwell, Mrs. Karen Johnsen and her husband, Mr. Jeff Haroldsen, Cory and Julie Hall, the West Jefferson High School Student Council, the West Jefferson Cheerleaders, and the Terreton PTO for running the different activities so the kids could get all the punches on their playground passports! Also, thank you to Trish Peterson for the photography!

Rocky Mtn Power Foundation Grant Awarded!

Further recognition goes to the Rocky Mtn. Power Foundation for the grant they have awarded the playground project in the amount of $5,000!  This is in addition to the Community Contribution given by Rocky Mtn. Power/PacifiCorp in December 2014 for the playground in the amount of $1,250.  Thank you to Mr. Tim Solomon from Rocky Mtn. Power for all of his help in securing this money for our playground - we could not have done it without the generosity of companies who invest back into the community like this.
Thank you Rocky Mtn. Power Foundation!

Thank you, Steele-Reese Foundation!!

We want to recognize the Steele-Reese Foundation for awarding our playground project a grant for $10,000!!  Thank you to the Foundation representatives for traveling out to see our new playground and advocate for us to get this grant money!  We appreciate your generosity and enthusiasm for our success!

BUILD DAY IS HERE!!!

Playground Build Day is tomorrow!!!!  A huge thank you to everyone who has worked in the hot sun for the last couple of weeks to get the playground to this point.

Here is what we need help with still:  leveling the grounds (some bark, some gravel), laying rubber tile (we need some more 5" hole saws and/or sawsalls or jigsaws to cut out the post holes), and putting on the finishing touches.  If you have them, please bring rakes, the above mentioned saws, your gloves, and LOTS OF WATER!!  There's still quite a bit to do before we can let the kids play on it, so PLEASE come help us finish this up in time for the activities on Saturday afternoon (3:30 pm).

We will be starting at 7 A.M.  PLEASE DO NOT BRING CHILDREN TO WORK WITH YOU - IT IS NOT SAFE.

Thank you!  Hope to see you there!

Join Us For Build-Day!!

Things are moving right along and we are so excited as we cruise through May and approach the end of the school year! That means that Build-Day for the playground is just around the corner!  We want to invite everyone to come with family and friends on SATURDAY, JUNE 27, 2015 to join in family activities and a ribbon-cutting ceremony that will open the playground for use.  We will send more information home with your children near the end of the school year, so keep watching!

Just to give you a little sneak peak, here is a picture of just a part of the playground that will be there!  We will post more pictures as we get them! Don't worry, there will be swings, monkey bars, etc. forthcoming.
(The three pictures are of the same structure, just from different angles.)
